Azzad Mahdzir

Rumah Empati Founder, HRD Corp Certified Trainer, Healing arts practitioner, Curriculum designer, SEL instructor, NVC student & supporter

Azzad is a trainer, consultant and healing arts practitioner who founded Rumah Empati with his sister Athirah as a home for Social-Emotional and Ethical Education.

His facilitation draws on frameworks such as Empathic Communication (based on Marshall Rosenberg’s Nonviolent Communication)Social-Emotional Ethical Learning (Emory University), and Compassion Cultivation Training (Stanford/Compassion Institute), while also integrating his practice of The Work by Byron Katie. Rooted in the Vipassana meditation tradition and informed by Buddhist psychology, Azzad bridges contemplative practice with evidence-based pedagogy.

Since 2020, through Empathy For Youth Academy, he served the youth, marginalised bodies, artists, educators, and civil societies across Malaysia and Southeast Asia with psychoeducational programming and mindful service.

Beyond retreats, Azzad shares his voice on the Gen-Z podcast Talk To You Later in the segment Empathy For Youth, and continues to collaborate across Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, and Bali. His facilitation invites participants to step into a home of empathy—where learning is both tender and transformative, and where we meet our truest selves together.

His most recent work is facilitating Empathy Retreats in Karangasem, Bali in January 2026.
